RMH Adult Critical Care Unit Receives Silver Beacon Award for Excellence

The award represents a significant milestone on the path to exceptional patient care and healthy work environments. The Beacon Award recognizes unit caregivers who successfully improve patient outcomes and align practices with AACN’s six Healthy Work Environment Standards. Units that achieve this three-year, three-level award with a gold, silver or bronze designation meet national criteria consistent with Magnet Recognition, the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and the National Quality Healthcare Award.  The silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence signifies continuous learning and effective systems to achieve optimal patient care. MercyRockford Health System Breaks Ground on New Cherry Valley Facility

Urinary Incontinence: The Newest Treatments

bike2Although many women are bothered by a loss of bladder control and pelvic discomfort they are often not aware that these problems have a name, much less how common they really are. Incontinence and pelvic floor problems are remarkably common but many women are reluctant to seek help because of the stigma associated with these conditions.

On Wednesday, February 24, Thomas Toussaint, M.D., a urogynecologist at the Women’s Center, will discuss the newest techniques available to treat the issues so you can live a healthy life. The event will be held at the Women’s Center, located at 7180 Spring Brook Road [map], from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Char DeMolli Named RHS 2015 Employee of the Year

Demolli_Char_EOM_Oct2015We are pleased to announce that Char DeMolli, Patient Service Representative for Pediatric Surgery, has been named the Rockford Health System 2015 Employee of the Year. Char was selected from 12 outstanding candidates who earned Employee of the Month awards throughout the year.

Char began her career at Rockford Health system nearly 40 years ago. She started part-time in the coffee shop before moving to the Emergency Department, then Peds Surgery. Astonishingly, Char has had perfect attendance during her entire career at the health system. Coworkers say Char consistently goes above and beyond. She’s always there to lend a hand and frequently helps out other departments when needed. She recognized for showing remarkable compassion when working with patients and their families.

Kim Mooney, R.N., Named RHS December 2015 Employee of the Month

Mooney_Kim_EOMdec2015Kim Mooney, R.N., Perryville Convenient Care, has been named RHS December 2015 Employee of the Month. Kim’s nomination notes her compassion, positive attitude, knowledge and willingness to help everyone. Most importantly she leaves her patients feeling cared for and valued.  They often say how wonderful she is. Kim is currently going back to school to become a nurse practitioner.

Convenient Care Holiday Hours


Christmas Eve will be observed on Thursday, December 24. All RHPH offices will be open from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. RHPH-Perryville Convenient Care will be open 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Christmas Day will be observed on Friday, December 25. All RHPH offices will be closed except RHPH – Perryville Convenient Care, which will be open 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Please note the changes in hours of operation. Regular office hours resume at all RHPH locations on Saturday, December 26.
