Char DeMolli Named RHS October 2015 Employee of the Month

Demolli_Char_EOM_Oct2015Char DeMolli, Patient Service Representative for Peds Surgery, has been named RHS October 2015 Employee of the Month.  An employee for 40 years with RHS, Char has had perfect attendance her entire working career with RHS!  Her nomination also identifies her as an employee who consistently demonstrates an “above & beyond attitude,” is always willing to help and always puts her patients first.  Her compassion with patients and their families is superior.

RMH Introduces Two New Germ-Zapping Robots

xenexdemo_2Rockford Memorial Hospital unveiled its latest tool to enhance patient care. Two new germ-zapping robots disinfect rooms in minutes, adding an additional layer of protection for patients. Rockford Memorial is the only Rockford hospital to use this technology.

The Xenex machines use pulsed xenon ultraviolet light to destroy hard-to-kill germs in hard-to-clean places. The UV light is thousands of times more intense than sunlight, and destroys harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, and even bacterial. The light reaches high touch surfaces in the room, such as bed rails, tray tables, equipment and remote controls, to disinfect without leaving a chemical residue. Continue reading

Active Aging Series – Wellness: It’s Not Just for the Young

ww_nov2015Rockford Health System and Wesley Willows are proud to present the Active Aging series of educational topics for your healthy life. Active Aging presentations will be offered the first Thursday of every month. The events, held at 4142 Johns Farm Road in the Town Center of Wesley Willows, are free and the public is welcome to attend.

The series continues on Thursday, November 5 at 4 p.m. with a discussion entitled, “Wellness: It’s Not Just for the Young.” The choices we make on a daily basis determine the health we will have over time. Wellness must be a lifelong goal and part of our overall plan for life. Join John Dorsey, M.D., Vice President of Physician Services and Chief Medical Officer at Rockford Health System, who will discuss how wellness and preventive care are impacted by the recent health care reform.

RHS Announces Winners of Annual Packard Quality Awards

Rockford Health System celebrated a commitment to quality and continuous improvement by recognizing the winners of the 2015 Jack W. Packard Quality Champion Awards. The awards emphasize the importance of team work in quality improvement efforts.packard2015_2

Two awards were presented – one for “Excellence in Clinical Quality Improvement” and another for “Excellence in Process Improvement” – both of which are critical in providing the highest quality, most effective and efficient care. Continue reading

RMH Receives National Recognition for Quality Care

rmhOnce again, Rockford Memorial Hospital has earned national recognition for providing quality care right here in the Rock River Valley. The hospital received 19 awards for quality in six clinical specialties from Healthgrades, the leading provider of information to help consumers make an informed decision about a physician or hospital. Healthgrades evaluated nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide. RMH is the only local hospital to consistently receive this type of recognition. Continue reading

MercyRockford Health System Announces $660,000 Investment in New Helipad

helipadnewsconf_1MercyRockford Health System today announced a $660,000 investment for the construction of a state-of-the-art new rooftop helipad at Rockford Memorial Hospital on N. Rockton Ave. Construction will begin immediately and be completed in early 2016.

In 2014, the hospital’s helipad was relocated from the rooftop to a ground location when the prior rooftop helipad was found to be deteriorating. Continue reading
