Auxiliary Thrift Shop Celebrates 25 Years of Giving

RMHauxthriftshopanniv_3The Rockford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop kicked off a week-long celebration today in honor of its 25th Anniversary. Since it opened in 1989, the thrift shop has donated nearly $2 million to Rockford Memorial Hospital.

The funds raised by the thrift shop touch every department. The donations help support the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, which offers free dental and medical care to uninsured and underinsured children in our community. The thrift shop raises funds for medical equipment in many hospital units and renovation projects like those in Women & Infant Services, the Pediatric Unit and the Pediatric Outpatient Unit. It also helps provide educational assistance for employees through the employee education assistance fund, scholarship programs and grants.
